Cultural Notes
Thai doesn't have verb conjugation for tense. Instead, time is expressed through time markers and context. 'เมื่อวาน' (mʉ̂a-waan) means 'yesterday' and indicates past time. 'พรุ่งนี้' (phrúng-níi) means 'tomorrow' and indicates future time. 'จะ' (jà) is a future marker meaning 'will' or 'going to'. When talking about the past, you can use 'เมื่อวาน' (yesterday), 'เมื่อเช้า' (this morning), or simply context. 'เที่ยว' (thîaw) means 'to travel' or 'to go sightseeing' and is a common activity in Thailand. 'วัด' (wát) means 'temple' and 'ตลาดน้ำ' (tà-làat-nám) means 'floating market', both popular tourist destinations. # Exercises Section
