Cultural Notes

In Thai, time is expressed using 'โมง' (mooŋ) for o'clock. The 24-hour system is commonly used, but the 12-hour system with 'เช้า' (cháo) for morning, 'บ่าย' (bàai) for afternoon, and 'ค่ำ' (khâm) for evening is also common. 'ตอนนี้' (tɔɔn-níi) means 'now' or 'at this time'. When asking about time, use 'กี่โมง' (kìi mooŋ) which means 'what time' or 'how many o'clock'. Thai people often wake up early, and breakfast is typically eaten between 7-8 AM. Work hours usually start around 8-9 AM in Thailand. # Exercises Section
