Mini Lesson: How to Tell Time in Thai

Just follow three simple steps! We'll show you how with examples you can practice.
1
Step 1: Say the Hour
Start with the hour number in Thai, then add โมง
Always end the hour with โมง (moong), which means "o'clock"

โมง
Just say "โมง" alone
2-12 o'clock
[Thai number]

Step 2: Add the Minutes (If Any)
Only mention minutes if it's not exactly on the hour
If it's exactly on the hour (like 3:00), you can skip the minutes! Just say the hour + โมง.
Exactly on the hour
Skip minutes
Example: สาม โมง (3 o'clock)
