Personal questions (age, salary, marital status) that might be considered rude in Western culture are common small talk in Thailand. Don't be offended - it's genuine curiosity! You can deflect politely if uncomfortable. Also, when complimented on your Thai, always respond humbly (ยังไม่เก่งหรอก = not that good yet) - this is the Thai way.
